In 2006, the Tracy Family Foundation began an active partnership with the K-12 schools in an effort to improve academic achievement for “Every Student. Every Level.” The school efforts are paying off with the students of Brown County coming out as the winners. In 2007, the composite ACT score for BCHS was 17.6. In 2016, the composite ACT score was 21.1. While progress has been made, there continue to be many opportunities for improvement.
Along with the improved test score, priorities are also changing for the better. In the 2013 Brown County community survey, 93 percent of respondents ranked schools as a high priority. In similar survey conducted in 2005, only 76 percent of the respondents ranked schools as a high priority. High quality PreK-Grade 12 schools are a Number #1 priority for both the Brown County community and the Tracy Family Foundation.
